Software Engineer

ABOUT THE ROLE

A new and exciting opportunity has become available for a Software Engineer to join our Sydney based engineering team. The Software Engineer will play a key role in the delivery of our critical and future-acclaimed projects by interpreting customer needs and specification documents to derive and refine software requirements and develop holistic, contextually aware, and verifiable solution software architecture.

 ABOUT YOU

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • 7+ years software development experience in regulated, engineering environment.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in systems-level programming using Java or C++.
  • Creating high-level design concepts from draft specifications.
  • Interpretation, decomposing and translating system requirements.
  • Software change control management.

Senior Project Engineer

ABOUT THE ROLE

A new and exciting opportunity has become available for a Senior Project Engineer to join our Sydney based engineering team. Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Leading a broad array of systems and/or product development and integration activities to ensure compliance with requirements, applicable standards and internal engineering and quality assurance processes.
  • Ensuring the project team delivers high-quality projects on time and within agreed budgets.
  • Providing strategic support within the project delivery teams, relating to planning, design, procurement, resource allocation, supervision, surveillance and policing.
  • Developing, analysing, authoring and communicating information that supports evidence-based decision making, the efficient and effective allocation of resources, problem solving and tangible company benefits.
  • Demonstrating effective leadership skills in mentoring, training, coaching, and developing team members.
  • Supporting our operations and business development functions by providing domain expertise and, where relevant, temporary resource augmentation.

ABOUT YOU

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Tertiary qualification in Electronic Engineering, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering or related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years work experience leading the development and integration of complex, cross-domain systems and products.
  • Experience applying the systems engineering process to the management of complexity and risk reduction in technical development initiatives.
  • Experience developing systems and products within a regulated environment such as Aerospace and/or Defence.
  • Able to balance the need for accuracy and attention to detail with the demands of aggressive schedules.

Principal Mechanical Engineer

ABOUT THE ROLE

Due to business growth, we are seeking an experienced Principal Mechanical Engineer to join our engineering team in Sydney. Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Responsible for the overall mechanical systems design for defence and mission systems and training applications.
  • Lead the technical review, trade-off analysis and decision-making process for the mechanical engineering team.
  • Provide the overall implementation strategy for mechanical designs as well as managing their interaction with their related electronic hardware systems and military standards.
  • Provide technical mentorship to small team of mechanical engineers.
  • Design hardware for specific applications from concept to introduction to service.
  • Perform necessary analysis / calculations to support design.
  • Responsibility for providing and justifying efficient solutions for the development of processes / products in line with product design and development control processes.

ABOUT YOU:

  • Bachelor/Master of Mechanical Engineering.
  • 7-10 years experience in similar role.
  • Experience in the complete product design life cycle: concept/ design/ prototype/ qualification/ into production/ entry to service.
  • Work with MIL-STD, SAE or other industry standards.
  • Ability to coordinate and/or produce or modify mechanical frameworks.
  • Sound knowledge Autodesk Inventor or similar 3D CAD software.
  • Hands-on prototyping ability.
  • Design of electromechanical assemblies.
  • Ability to produce technical manuals, test procedures, drawing packages, etc.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office tools such as Word, and Excel.

Product Design Engineer

ABOUT THE ROLE

Due to business growth, an opportunity has become available for a Product Design Engineer, with strong mechanical design experience to join our engineering team in Sydney. This role is primarily responsible for the mechanical design of different hardware products for specific applications starting from concept through to introduction and service.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Perform necessary analysis and calculations to support design;
  • Provide and justify efficient solutions for the development of processes and products in line with product design and development control processes;
  • Contribute to inventions, new designs and techniques of a material significance in solution of problems;
  • Review, develop, and assemble engineering concepts and tasks;
  • Design mechanical systems and/or modifications to existing components for applicable projects;
  • Source of proof of concept, prototype, and production run components;
  • Carry out assembly of concepts, prototypes and production run systems where required;
  • Develop test procedures and carry out testing for each product; and
  • Develop and maintain project documentation (technical manuals, test procedures, schematics, etc.).

ABOUT YOU

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Industrial Engineering Degree;
  • Ability to coordinate, produce or modify mechanical frameworks;
  • Sound knowledge of Autodesk Inventor or similar 3D, CAD software;
  • Hands-on prototyping ability;
  • 10+ years experience as a Mechanical Designer;
  • Design of electromechanical assemblies;
  • Ability to produce technical manuals, test procedures and drawing packages, etc.; and
  • Prior experience in the defence/aerospace or similar regulated industry is advantageous.

IRVINE, CA, UNITED STATES

Senior FPGA Engineer

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Senior FPGA Engineer will be based in Irvine and responsible for the hardware/firmware design lifecycle including conceptual and detailed design, implementation (HDL) and V&V for high performance and high-speed systems in both aerospace and defense markets.

ABOUT YOU

To be successful in this role, you will have had prior experience with the following:

  • Xilinx and Altera (Intel) FPGAs
  • VHDL or Verilog
  • Digital video processing using FPGAs
  • Test Bench Functional and Timing Simulation
  • ModelSIM/QuestaSim
  • Chipscope / Signal Tap debug tool
  • High-Speed data interface (over 200MHz), which includes resource allocation, IP usage, signal integrity analysis
  • DO-254 experience preferred
  • Experience with DDR SDRAM is preferred
