Quality Assurance Manager (Part-time)

About the role

This role is part-time, working three days per week, based at our Newington facility.

The Quality Assurance (QA) Manager will represent Thomas Global when customers or regulators require a single point of contact for QMS-related actions. The position will manage quality and safety for the overall operations of Thomas Global’s various production workshops and provide direction, support, and feedback for all team members to facilitate the delivery of quality and safety outcomes.

This QA Manager will have organizational freedom and unrestricted access to top management to resolve quality management issues.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring that the QMS conforms to the requirements of the certified International Standards;
  • Ensuring that the processes are delivering their intended outputs;
  • Reporting to top management details of the performance of the QMS and opportunities for improvement;
  • OASIS site administration, coordination with Certification Bodies and complying with their requirements;
  • Ensuring the promotion of customer focus throughout the organization;
  • Driving continual improvements to the QS and throughout the organization;
  • Coordinating with customers regarding QA matters;
  • Ensuring that the integrity of the QMS is maintained when applicable changes are planned and implemented;
  • Manage training and records for the organization;
  • Ensure internal and external documentation is controlled (Configuration Management);
  • Perform QA and Safety audits;
  • Ensure that suppliers and sub-contractors are assessed, approved and audited as required;
  • Conduct regular documentation reviews to ensure currency and comply with relevant regulations and standards;
  • Other such tasks typically carried out within the Quality Department (including, but not limited to):
    • Co-ordinating Activities with External Auditors
    • Aviation regulation compliance and coordination with NAAs
    • Providing QMS Training to staff
    • WHS Committee meetings
    • NCR & CAR reviews and continual improvement
    • Risk & Hazard Assessments

Qualifications & Experience

  • 2+ years of experience in quality assurance or quality control
  • Experience with ISO 9001 or other quality management system standards
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software applications
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance in the industry

This position will work in an office environment and may be required to work outside normal business hours to meet project deadlines or attend meetings. You may be required to travel occasionally to attend off-site meetings or conferences.
